About the event

Sign up to this workshop with me, Ella Young, to prepare your body, mind and spirit for this upcoming life-changing event. I hope to equip you with postures and mindsets that will empower you through labour and help you and baby to find a greater sense of comfort throughout the whole experience.

The numbers are limited to ensure a high level of support for each pair. This workshop is designed for both the mother (at 30 weeks+) and intended birth partner (partner/friend/family member) but is open to you if you are interested in attending alone.

There will be fruit and herbal tea on offer on arrival. We will begin with a sharing circle to connect the group and open the sacred space. You will never be forced to say anything but the option is there for all to speak and be heard - able to voice concerns, excitement and anything in between.

From there we will all move into a gentle yoga class (no previous experience required for birth partners) to open the muscles around the pelvis to make space for your baby’s upcoming arrival. We will then be incorporating extra props to extend the understanding of ‘support’ to being all around us (all things you can find/take with you wherever you are in labour). Supportive massage techniques will be shared for birth partners to get comfortable with and offer over the coming weeks, including during labour. We will then move into a deeply relaxing ‘yogic sleep’ which can have a profound effect on those with sleep deprivation, anxiety or a difficulty in ‘letting go’. There will be some time left at the end for us to share cake and tea together and the opportunity for any last questions.
