What to expect

Nikki is a passionate Reflexologist specialising in supporting women transitioning through perimenopause, to menopause and beyond. My focused reflexology treatment is a natural way women can ease stress, balance hormones, reduce hot flushes, lower anxiety, improve mood and sleep. Common symptoms include rising anxiety, sleep issues, fatigue, memory lapses, difficulty concentrating, light bladder leakage, increased headaches, palpitations, weight gain, bloating, new allergies, achy joints, hot flushes, itchy skin…the list goes on. Some of the symptoms of the perimenopause mirror those we experience during PMS, but if these symptoms don’t disappear when your period starts, this points to perimenopause. Perimenopause can last a long time, from 5 to 14 years and 57% of women will experience one or more symptoms. That’s a long time to be out of balance and miserable. While HRT can & does work for many, for some who don't want to take medication or can’t, or for those who are still experiencing symptoms, this focused reflexology treatment can be very helpful. Try this targeted reflexology treatment to gently encourage a reverse in the imbalances that you might notice as signs and symptoms of a busy life effected by emotional and environmental stressors. This treatment uses immersive and restorative reflexology techniques to help you to feel, nurture, and build your natural vitality, improving health and encouraging the body's own healing processes. Bringing you back into your body, generating a feeling of being centred and grounded. Your initial treatment will start with a medical history being taken, and more specifically, any symptoms you are experiencing, then you simply recline and relax. During the treatment, you can either talk or lay quietly, whichever you prefer. The technique involved requires the application of a firm pressure using the side and end of the thumbs and fingers, using an organic reflexology cream. Areas corresponding to parts of the body that are out of balance may feel uncomfortable or tender, sensitivity of the feet varies from person to person. You may feel warmth and experience a tingling sensation in your feet and the rest of your body during your treatment. You may also feel relaxed and drowsy. Most people find the treatment very relaxing and experience an immediate and lasting reduction of tension and improved sense of well-being.
