About the event
An invitation to join Kim and Amanda for this very special fundraising event for the BHF. Â This 2 hour special will include 90 minutes of Tai Chi with Kim whilst Amanda plays beautiful live music. This is a very unique event and a chance to raise money for a charity very close to all of the Harewood Holistic's team's hearts.Â
Tai Chi is a traditional Chinese wellness practice that is suitable for all ages and fitness levels and complements modern mindfulness philosophies to the benefit of all participants. The essence of Tai Chi is to harmoniously integrate the mind, body, and spirit to improve holistic health through continued, gentle movement. Students report feeling physically stronger, more alert and able to relax. Medical observations often include improved blood pressure, reduction in chronic pain, such as arthritis, and better flexibility.
Tai Chi itself consists of slow flowing, meditative movements with poetic names that evoke the natural world. These movements, which are easy and fun to do, create focus in the mind, body, and breath, encouraging the flow of 'Qi', the balance of energy in the body, which is thought to activate the body's natural self-healing systems.
Throughout this practice, you will receive the sacred sound of the Tibetan and crystal bowls, guiding us to drop into deep presence as we flow through the movements. Amanda will use heart bowls during this session to open the Anahata (the Sanskrit word for the heart space). The bowls will be aligned to the heart and the Vishudi chakra (the throat). The sound will access and release any tension that we might be holding around the heart, creating space before Amanda takes the sound a little higher into the 3rd eye, bringing us into unity. Enjoy Tibetan and crystal bowls along with soft chimes and bells.
This is open to all levels and you are also welcome to enjoy the sound on your mat if you prefer. All proceeds will be donated to the British Heart Foundation via this page:
