About the event

Join Taylor Selby for a day yoga retreat full of nourishing movement, food, connection, and practice. April is a transitional month, bridging the gap from winter to spring. As we start to feel this seasonal shift from darker mornings and evenings to longer days and warmer energy, we can harness and embody this transition on our mat. Syncing our practice up with the seasons can help us tune into the energy we are feeling and help us embrace the changes that naturally occur in our external environment.  

Our retreat morning begins with a 90 minute invigorating vinyasa flow, thoughtfully curated to mirror the essence of blooming and expanding. Engage in a stimulating and awakening practice, activating the the body and breath through dynamic flows and breathwork. Align yourself with spring's energy through an awakening practice that embodies the transition of defrosting the winter heaviness and hibernation to embracing a soft bloom and expansion. Expect a strong practice with options to move through arm balances, inversions, and more. 

Our first practice will be followed by an outdoor walk to Muddy Boots cafe via the deer park for a nourishing lunch. Harewood Food and Drink Project uses the best of Harewood's seasonal larder so we will continue to harmonise with spring with seasonal produce that is reared, grown or foraged on the estate, keeping food miles to a minimum. 

From lunch step into the outdoors for a guided walk amidst a breathtaking display of daffodils in full bloom. Connect with the beauty of nature as you absorb the sights and scents of spring.

Reignite your energy with a second 90-minute yoga practice, seamlessly transitioning from the dynamic morning session. Experience the harmonious blend of yang and yin styles, harnessing the awakening energy cultivated earlier in the day, exploring our full blossom on the mat in different capacities.  This session will guide you through invigorating sequences and gradually transition into a slow and grounded yin practice, supported by essential oils to settle and soften, with a deep relaxation to finish.

Expect to feel supported through your physical practice with optional points to discover new territory in inversions & arm balances, whilst also balancing that energy with softer soothing practices to close.
